Semaglutide (SMG)

Semaglutide (Wegovy, Ozempic, Rybelsus) is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP1) receptor agonist, and works by increasing insulin release, decreasing glucagon release, delaying gastric empty and reducing appetite. It is approved by the US FDA as a medicine for chronic weight management. It was reported that after taking semaglutide, patients can loss approximately 15% of initial weight at 68 weeks, and it also cause cardiovascular risks factors decrease and physical function increase.
