Oral Epidermoid Carcinoma Cells (OECC)

Squamous cell carcinoma, also known as epidermoid carcinoma, is cancer that begins from squamous cells, a type of skin cell. It is one of the main types of skin cancer. Cancers that involve the anus, cervix, head and neck, and vagina are also most often squamous cell cancers. The esophagus, urinary bladder, oral, and lung are other possible sites. HB cell line is the commonly used human oral epidermoid carcinoma cell. Esophageal cancer may be due to either squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) or adenocarcinoma (EAC). SCCs tend to occur closer to the mouth, while adenocarcinomas occur closer to the stomach. Dysphagia and painful swallowing are common initial symptoms.
