New discovery in genetic study of systemic lupus erythematosus
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease, which damages multiple tissues and organs, resulting from the production of autoantibodies to nuclear antigens. The clinical manifestations of SLE are highly heterogeneous, including cutaneous, musculoskeletal, renal, hematologic, neurologic, and other diverse symptoms. To date, nearly 180 genomic loci have been identifed as associated with SLE susceptibility in genetic studies in multiple ancestries. Recent genetic studies leverage diverse cell type–specifc epigenetic resources and other biological resources to draw better pictures of the disease pathogenesis, thus updating the genetic architecture of SLE. Such genet......

Elucidating the role of the gut microbiota in the physiological effects of dietary fiber
On May 13, 2022, Jens Walter, Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science, University of Alberta, Canada, and his team published a paper titled “Elucidating therole ofthegut microbiota inthephysiological effects ofdietary fiber” in Microbiome, which demonstrated the efficacy of purified dietary fibers when used as supplements and suggests that satietogeniceffects of arabinoxylan (AX) may be linked to bacterial taxa that ferment the fiber or utilize breakdown products. The kits [ELISA Kit for Lipopolysaccharide Binding Protein (LBP), SEB406Hu] of Cloud-Clone brand was chosed in this article, we are so proud for supporting the reaserchers. Background: Dietary fiber is an ......

New discovery of potential treatment for glioblastoma
Brain tumors are among the most devastating forms of cancerand glioblastoma (GBM) represents the most aggressive and lethalform of the disease. GBM is characterized by a poor prognosis, an extremely high mortality rate, and a high tendency for recurrence. Despite advances in surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, the median survival time of GBM is only 15–16 months, and the 5-year overall survival rate is less than 5%. Thus, there is an urgent need to develop new effective therapeutic strategies for treating GBM. Recently, a number of studies have reported new advances in GBM research, which may help improve the clinical outcomes of GBM.1. M1-macrophage extracellular vesicles for effe......

Combating multidrug resistance and metastasis of breast cancer by endoplasmic reticulum stress and cell-nucleus penetration enhanced immunochemotherapy
On 21 March 2022, Jianli Ren, Department of Ultrasound and Chongqing Key Laboratory of Ultrasound Molecular Imaging, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, P. R. China, and his team published a paper tittled “Combating multidrug resistance and metastasis of breast cancer by endoplasmic reticulum stress and cell-nucleus penetration enhanced immunochemotherapy” in Theranostics, which presented a nanocomposite that can restrict the growth of drug-resistant breast tumors and activates a strong immune response as well. The kits [ELISA Kit for Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNFa), SEA133Mu; ELISA Kit for Interferon Gamma (IFNg), SEA049Mu; ELISA Kit for Interleukin 6......

New findings from schizophrenia gene study
Schizophrenia is a severe psychiatric disorder with signs and symptoms that includehallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech and behaviour, diminished emotional expression, social withdrawal and cognitive impairment, typically manifests in late adolescence or early adulthood. Existing therapies largely address primarily positive symptoms (hallucinations and delusions), and the response to existing antipsychotic medications is highly variable, with approximately 30% of patients classified as treatment resistant. The lack of progress in therapeutic development is in part a consequence of the limited understanding of the molecular aetiology of psychiatric disorders.Recently, a number......

A nitric oxide-eluting and REDV peptide-conjugated coating promotes vascular healing
On 28 March 2022, Yunbing Wang, National Engineering Research Center for Biomaterials, Sichuan University, and his team published a paper tittled “A nitric oxide-eluting and REDV peptide-conjugated coating promotes vascular healing” in Biomaterials. They designed a bionic coating on vascular stents in a two-step manner to promote the healing of injured vessels by combining mussel-inspired molecular adhesion and a thiol-ene “click” reaction. The kits [ELISA Kit for Cyclic Guanosine Monophosphate (cGMP), CEA577Ge] of Cloud-Clone brand was chosed in this article, we are so proud for supporting the reaserchers.Drug-eluting stents (DESs) placement remarkably reduces the over-prolife......
